030: Orange-White-Green Flag of India

August 23rd, Friday

Alhamdulillah, we've reached India safely after about two hours and thirty minutes of flight from Kota Kinabalu bound for Kuala Lumpur and another four-hour-and-thirty-minutes flight to Bangalore, one of the big cities in India.

It was 11PM something in India. That was the first time for me to breathe the air in India. It felt. . . different. Honestly. I can't brain what's the difference actually. Was it fresher than that of Malaysia? I could not tell. Everyone was busy waiting for their luggage, mostly filled with clothes and food supplies, to be put on the belt. I still remember what my heart felt at that very moment. It was heavy but at the same time, it was filled with determination and high spirit to start the 'journey' of grabbing the 'Dr.' title so that I can go back Malaysia faster. Huh. I was trying to divert as much attention as I can from thinking about home. I made myself busy with anything I could.

Yenepoya Dental College, Mangalore. U'huh. That's the name of the institution I'm currently attending with my other 9 batch-mates. It is located quite far away from Bangalore; about 10-12 hours journey by road and almost one hour by flight.

So our next flight to Mangalore will be on the next morning, early morning it was. Hence, we ought to stay in a hotel for only 3-4 hours. Alhamdulillah, we've finally reached Mangalore airport, situated about 50 minutes from our college. The journey we took by our college bus provided by our generous and kind seniors allowed me to peek through the window of India.

The ROAD, the highway.
It was bumpy, dusty and narrower that what we've here in Malaysia. Reddish brown soils are everywhere. Dusty, dusty, dusty. I was rainy season so there were many pools of mud you can find on the side of the road. The bus conductor was sleeping soundly on a chair in front of us. We were wondering how can he sleep in this bumpy ride? Oh. I forgot to mention one thing. HONK. It is not INDIA if honking sounds are not heard. Like seriously, your ears are filled with nothing but the sound of the shaking window glass, thanks to the bumpy road, and the sound of the honk from every each of the vehicles on the road.

My mind. I was tired even on that early morning. Perhaps, sadness will drain your energy away just like that. When you are sad, all your muscles are not in the mood of doing anything. Despite of thinking of going back, however, I've said to myself that I can't go home often because the journey is tiring and not that easy. Based on that, I can shoo away the homesickness inside of me.

Reached hostel safely around 10am after passing through the most challenging road I've ever encounter in my life so far.  It's bumpy with small hills located here and there, few pools of mud and gravel roads on some parts. The funny part is we have to get through this road whenever we wish to go out of hostel. But seriously, we laughed at this fact. Challenge accepted!

FOOD.
So far, we are all safe and free from diarrhea. The local menu such as 'idli', 'parotha', 'samosa', 'briyani' and some other food are bearable. In fact, they are delicious! Well, except for idli, I like most of the food. We are actually lucky to dwell in Mangalore because halal and nice, delicious food are so easy to get. Alhamdulillah.

LOCAL PEOPLE.
Indian in India. So far, I think they are quite friendly but they do like to stare and they stare a lot. Some of their behaviors will give you the pain in your neck. You have to be patience, especially in management matter. Most of the time. You need to keep on pushing them in order to get your work done. If not, they will take forever to finish it. =_="

Actually there are so many things to be shared but my fingers are too lazy to keep on tapping the keyboard, my eyes need to rest. Oh, have I told you that our classes are held from Monday to Saturday? Yup, 6/7. Huhu.. Clearly, I've no time to idling around and wasting time.

022 : White Heart of a Baby

Saturday, 31st December
Babies are cute. I dare to say 99.9% people in this world would consider baby is one beautiful creation GOD has made. Why all babies are cute? Personally, I think babies are cute because of their innocence and purity. They have no sin and are adorable. Every little thing they do will tickle our hearts. :) That's what I call the 'power of innocence'.

Last month, my cousin's wife gave birth a baby boy. I was at my aunt's in Klang when we received that happy news. I got new nephew on 7th November 2011! The baby boy was named Naufal. :)
During my visit there, I've learnt few things. One of them is to appreciate our mother. Naufal's mom said, it was not easy to give birth. She said, once we gave birth we would think twice to have another baby. This shows that our mom had gone through the ultimate pain in their life while giving birth.

But why do some moms have more than one child? It was a delectation to see someone very dear to heart grows. This was said by one of mothers in this world and her words stayed in my heart.

On 24th November 2011, another baby boy was born. No blood relation but his family is not a stranger to me. I came to know this family since I was a kid. So, his birth day was one which I've been waiting for. I'm excited to welcome this new baby and became more exhilarated as 'it' is a boy! :D
On this same date, his brother was celebrating his 18th birthday. So, Happy Belated 18th Birthday, love! Thanks for being born in my world. I was far during your birthday. There was nothing much I could do. However, I did give you present during my return, right? Hope you like it. :) But still, I'm sorry.

Lastly: Welcome to this new world, babies!

Malaysia, Happy Independence Day! :D

(Google Image)

Alhamdulillah, I'm grateful to be born in this land, as a Malaysian. Today, my country has been freeing itself from the grip of imperialists for about 54 years! Congratulations, Malaysia!

As a Malaysian, we ought to maintain this achievement. We don't want the colonizers to colonize our land again, do we? Hence, let us together, stand in unity, defend our country. As a student, all we can do is gain knowledge as much as we can. 'Knowledge is Power'.
By having knowledge, in shaa Allah, we can hardly be fooled by the people, able to differentiate between good and evil and manage to think wisely in complicated crisis. With high cognizance, Malaysian wouldn't have time to discuss about their unsatisfied feelings towards the government. *I will not discuss further on this post.

Other than gaining knowledge, try hard not to cause any social problems to our country. Stay away from drugs, be a positive people with a positive thinking that will lead you to at least, one positive outcome in your life. :)

So, lets spread peace and love. <3 Happy Independence Day! :)

013 : Stressful White Papers

Wednesday - August 31st, 2011

"Are you afraid of exams?"
"Do you wriggle at the thought of it?"
"Are you having butterflies in your tummy?"

Lines taken from SM SFX Choral Speaking Team's script

Life as a student can never be separated from this big event called 'examination'. It's the 'season' when almost all students will have at least a small different in their attitudes. The lazybones who never interested in reading would strive hard to read the whole book in just one night. The sleepyheads who keep on yawning while reading would rather stay up to finish the syllabus. Why examination is so stressful?

During exams, candidates are gathered in a big hall or classroom, sitting, almost feel like alone where another person would sit about a least 2ft away from the other person. No sounds should be made. No voice should be heard, only the invigilators'. It would only be you and your brain.

You are given at least a sheet of question paper. White sheet of paper. Creepier, sheets of paper; a question booklet with more than twenty pages or not less than 10 questions. *Thinking of this makes my brain tired.
The questions might request answers that you know. This sounds easy. But, they could also be something that when you read you'll go like, "How can they think of this question?" or "Is this even in the syllabus?". Besides, examination is also a battle with time. We have to answer all questions in a period of time. This what presses us actually in addition to the level of difficulty of the questions.

Relax!
To reduce the stress, be well prepared! Study consistently. Read at least a chapter or a topic a day for all subjects. With this, in shaa Allah, we'll manage to cover everything before exams. :)
Practice 'read and understand' instead of 'read and memorize' for subjects which require us to understand concepts like Chemistry, Biology, Physics and etc. Actually, almost all subjects need us to understand than to memorize.
Inside the examination hall or room, we ought to let our mind to relax by thinking of happy thoughts. Be in a happy mood. :) By trying to remembering hard on some facts would cause our mind to be distracted and this what makes us stress.
Last but not least, always remember that we are not alone. God is with us. In shaa Allah. :)
After all we've done, He will reward us. So, recite prayers and have faith! InsyaAllah, everything would run smoothly. Even when we think it's not, it will. InsyaAllah..

004 : As White as a Happy Cloud, as Sweet as a Candy.

Sunday - May 8th, 2011
As today, 8th of May, is a date selected by this country, Malaysia and many other countries around the world to celebrate Mothers' Day, I would like to give a prep talk about appreciation towards mothers. :)

First of all, syukur Alhamdulillah, GOD gives me the best mom in the world. Mother, I love you! :)

Do you know the pedigree of Mothers' Day? To be actual, there were so many 'histories' of this event and I could say most of them are religious issues. So, for Muslims, we are forbidden to celebrate something which is not appropriate to our Islamic views. But then, as today celebration is not more than appreciating our mothers, which is crucially taught by our religion, we can celebrate it. Terms and conditions are applied though. :)

We ought to celebrate it by conducting 'kenduri', in a modest way and of course, with good intentions. This day might be one suitable day to give moms surprises - cakes, gifts. Again, do not waste too much money on this as Islam teaches us to save money and to spend it wisely. Do say 'I love you, Mom'. Do thank our moms. Do say 'Sorry'. Actually, we can do all these things whenever we want. Moreover, Islam teaches us to do all these EVERYDAY. I mean, there's no need to wait for one specific day to act extra nice to moms. :)

So, let's make our moms happy. Love them. Appreciate them. Cherish them. Treasure them. <3

To my beloved mother, I love you. I always do. Your heart is as white as happy cloud and as sweet as candy. Again, I love you. Hope you really like my present. InsyaAllah.. I'll be a good daughter and will aid you now and hereafter. Ya Allah, please give my mom the happiness she deserves. Amin...
