006 : What Is My Future Colour?

Saturday - May 28th, 2011
Time walks extremely fast. Days change without any hesitation. Back then, I was 6 years old when I started to sense the time and now, here I am as an 8teen-year-old girl. It's time to be self-sufficient. Sigh.

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear,
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

This was the poem I've studied for about two years during my high-school life. As shown in the picture, there are two roads diverged in the forest and I believe each road leads to a different ambiance. One of the messages in this poem that Robert Frost wishes to highlight is the choices in our lives. I believe, there are always choices in life. Each leads to a different future. Different outcome. Different result. Hence, we ought to scrutinize the pros and cons of each choice so there will be nothing to regret in the future. For Muslims, we are encouraged to perform solat Istikharah and of course, doing a lot of prayers.

New environment. New people. These two indefinite aspects are some of the most challenging questions running through our minds when it comes to a new world. Of course, I would not be excluded. As I choose to study dentistry in Selangor, in East Technology College to be exact, I have to be miles and miles apart from my beloved family. I would not have the chance to hug my parents like I always do, tease my youngest sister's big soft fat belly, bully my funny older sister and scold my blur 15-year-old sister. There'll be no humorous stories and acts. Sigh. Surely, I'll miss them. A lot. :'( I guess, homesickness will encounter me.

In addition, our best friends since primary/secondary schools would not be around anymore. Instead, we'll meet various kinds of new people that soon will become our friends. :) This is one of the things that will make me feel a bit excited and amused. I like to meet new friends and still, keep the old-s in my heart. :) Naz, my very humble and favorable friend, is currently having quite a not-really-bad-yet-enjoyable-experience time in KML I suppose. Jocie, my pretty and bright friend is soon to fly to Selangor and will be labeled as KDU's student. Mira, my tall and rich-of-general-knowledge friend will soon leave footprints in Mesir. Elsa, my cheerful and very friendly friend is currently experiencing the ambiance in UMS and maybe soon will register in IPG Gaya.

To someone I really fancy, it surely be hard to witness your humorous, funny yet adorable actions. Your jokes will be missed and so is your teeth-exposed smile. <3 All the best in everything you do. I'll always support you. :)

I hope GOD will bless my way, no matter which path I'll choose to travel. Amin~
